Monthly Goals

I'm going to start setting 1 month goals for us.

This month there are two goals.

Goal #1: Narrow down our wedding band selection to 3 sets of rings.

Goal #2: Create a list of 10 possible outdoor locations to research further.

Simple enough.

I've been giving lots of thought to the wedding party, mostly my ladies. I think I just want to pick the color of their dresses and let them, within reason, choose the style of the dress. I've heard David's Bridal has this nice mix and match line (same concept as mix and match bathing suits). I think I will look into that a little further.

I'm getting married!!!

I just have to brag!

I am having one of those super excited moments!

I have the most amazing man in my life. He is sexy and intelligent, he treats me like his Queen, he cooks fabulous meals for me and Erik when he is here, he enjoys a lot of the same things in life that I do. He appreciates my randomness and spontaneity, especially when I have the blond moments for both of us. Best of all, he loves me dearly and respects me.

I just feel incredibly lucky, and thankful I found Mr. Right who just happens to be Mr. Knight.

The Dress of Endless Possibility

As of today I decided where my dress will be made. I have difficulty finding things that fit me nicely and comfortably as it is, why would my wedding dress be any different?

While killing time at work one day I was browsing through IMAGE magazine and saw an advertisement for this place called Fancy Felix. It seemed right up my alley, but when I looked at they're web site I saw zero wedding content so I used the contact us box. Come to find they custom make each and every piece that leaves their shop and due the the uniqueness of each and every dress they do not post and wedding dress pictures on their web site. I have e-mailing back and forth with Robina from Fancy Felix for probably the last week or two and I just love her. I went to meet with her yesterday and I love her even more.

Robina reminds me a lot of my self, just older. She has long, straight, beautiful red hair, and a very eccentric personality. I can see the ideas as the brew in her head and her eyes light up with excitement. She loves my ideas and thinks they are the furthest thing from odd. I think this is going to be a beautiful business relationship!

I need to start on a wedding board. I need to collage. I. OMG. I am getting married!

Robina showed me a board another client started... I think this would be a great way for me to get my ideas together and literally get them all in once place, together. I can be quite scatterbrained at times. I cannot wait until I can sit down and start going through fabrics and silks with Robina and making what I have in my head literally come to life.

A friend of mine suggested a site to me: http://offbeatbride.ning.com/ I have yet to find the time to actually play with it, but I am all for sharing resources. Even if it doesn't help me, it might help you. While having 5 minutes to look at this site, I found another once by accident. Accident of entering the wrong URL. Also check out http://offbeatbride.com

I am a little nervous about scouting for locations as I am realizing that Rich and I will have a month, two months tops, to see places and have them appear as much like they will when we get married.

I'm engaged, now what?

"I'm engaged, now what?" I actually google'd that the other day. Pages upon pages of wedding planner type sites came up. One thing they all had in common was to announce your engagement if you so choose, and SET A DATE!

Honestly. We're a hard working couple on a budget... I'd rather spend the "announce your engagement" funds on the main event. It's going to be perfect according to us and we'll find a way to make it everything we have dreamed of.

06/15/2011

That's the big day. It will be our two year anniversary and a day to remember forever.

Out of all the sites I have browsed I will admit to using www.theknot.com I created an account there when my lovely friend Nicole was planning her wedding. I created an account for myself and John Doe. So I could see what the hype was about and get ideas for my big day if it ever presented itself.

I am so happy I can cross off setting a date on our growing to do list!
